Two tools are available:
- COBIT 4.0 IMPLEMENTATION TOOL (CIT)
- COBIT 4.0 AUDIT TOOL (CAT)
The first tool is used by IT management to define and implement a road map for better governance. The second tool is used to identify the risks and perform an audit of the controls implemented by management for better IT governance. This tool also maintains a record of control evaluation, deficiency identification and the status of remedial action taken as required by various compliance regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley.
Both solutions provide the functionality to track progress in completing an action list of items to be implemented for better governance. The second tool is specifically designed to assist auditors undertake reviews of IT processes.
What do these solutions offer?
Centralised planning and co-ordination of IT governance requirements by an oversight authority prior to roll out.
Support for implementation and monitoring in a single and multiple business unit environment (i.e. suitable for both small and large organisations).
Mapping to popular frameworks including CobiT 4.0 and ITIL.
Support for process owners to monitor capability improvement by tracking the status of items contained in an Action List with Target completion dates are monitored together with final sign-off and acceptance.
